I don’t believe that enjoying makeup and wearing makeup is a bad thing, in fact, I encourage it.
I believe that I have a makeup addiction.
There, I said it! I am not comfortable taking a selfie or photograph without makeup on so to present my poem and picture below to you is taking an intense amount of guts… I am showing you the before, the real, the unedited ME – The makeup free Shevy.

Knitting is an interesting albeit pensive past time.
I distinctly remember my home economics class in standard 5 / 7th grade / Year 7 in 1996, we were tasked with knitting our own scarves. I chose green and grey wool – though looking back now, I can’t be certain if that was preference or need – and proceeded to knit the loosest, most amateur scarf possible. I never finished knitting that scarf and I can’t even tell you what happened to the start of it, all I can say is that I have spent the rest of my life ‘trying’ to finish knitting a scarf.

Pink and blue will never do, cos’ all the boys will wink at you!
It was not that long ago that I decided to sign up to Influenster, 6 weeks ago to be exact, after seeing like-minded bloggers receiving their own VOXBOX’s containing great products from high end brands to review and keep. Like many other applications and sites, I assumed that Influenster would be the same – that I would try and do all of the ‘snaps’ (survey questions) and nothing would come of it – I was wrong!

What most of us don’t realise is that all of the Winter comforts we look forward to are part of the reason we struggle with skin hydration…
I absolutely love Winter. The prospect of staying indoors surrounded by the comfort of my central heating, being bundled up in the warmest layers, drinking hot chocolate or eating my weight in marshmallows is what gets me through the Summer heat. What I seem to forget year after year is the dehydrating effects that Winter brings to my skin and the dryness which I suffer until Spring peeks around the seasonal corner.

December was the month of foreign Netflix series and science fiction for me…
Having kicked off the first of my Netflix posts (10 November Netflix picks!) with a post in December, I thought that I should try and keep it up by giving you the run down of all of my favourite Netflix series and movies that I watched throughout the month of December. Hopefully this will give you some inspiration of what next to add to your Netflix list and don’t worry, it isn’t filled with Christmas themed viewing… except Love Actually, of course!

I have many hopes and dreams for myself, my family and my blog but I am learning that I need only worry about one thing at a time.
I have spent quite some time reflecting over the last few weeks on the year that was and how the events in 2017 shaped me into who I am today and yet it has taken me a long time to put into words the hopes and dreams I have for 2018 and actually move on from what I went through last year. I think it was an easy way out for me to take the ‘hard done by’ route, the line of thinking that saw me self-victimised and feeling as though the world was against me – only now do I understand that I had to go through last year to get here, where I am today and I am extremely grateful.
To tell you where I am going, I must first explain (as briefly as possible) where I have been.

…I was no more than ten years old when I first knew ‘love at first sight’ for a pair of shoes
Since the 1960’s, the iconic Dr. Martens have been beautifully perverting wardrobes everywhere. From their modest work boot beginnings to their unrivalled grunge presence, these boots have been a cultural staple globally. Where once their purpose was to protect the feet of postman and workers alike from the harsh environment and UK elements, now they serve as a style marker; a statement piece; a relic of festivals and cultural diversities past.

Considering I already own its fantastical cousin, ‘Unicorn blood’, it was a necessity to have the blood of the mermaid as well.
I don’t know about you but with all of the products that Jeffree Star has been putting out in 2017, I am so excited to see what JS has in store for us in 2018 and if the brand can think of any new colours to put out (By now, surely they have done them all?)
