My dream.

In this dream, I pray not to wake
Reality waning, each breath I take
Hopes seemed in life to pass by
Yet these you grant, without effort nor try
Touches so gentle, words softly said
This tattered book, its pages now read
Redemption in your eyes I do seek
Strength to this soul, once beaten and weak
Within your being, I long for the light
For my rescue in dead of night
A lifetime search for purpose and truth
A saviour, best friend I’ve found in you
With every breath, thoughts of you I weave
Your warmth, your heart and life to receive
An eternity of promise for you to take
Eons of assurance, my covenant to make
Rain surely falls, thunder still to break
This love remains, nought to shake
Escape from me my final breath
The only exception, an inamorata in death
Nothing in nor out this feeling to sway
Wake not from this dream, on bended knee I pray
