Goodbye.

Only inches from you I stand
My body fighting back the urge
Yet my eyes disagree
A solitary tears spurns itself down my cheek
And with that, they flow
Unable to speak
The words are choked before they reach my lips
I lay my head on your shoulder
I hold on to you so that I can remember
So that I dont have to forget
All the inches of you I have memorised
So that after you are gone
I can envision any and all of you
With these thoughts the tears flow heavy
I hold tighter knowing the inevitable has arrived
With that you must pull away
I dont want to let go
I dont want to watch you walk away
The need to feel you again
Surpasses the pain of good bye
Our lips touch for the final time
Though this is not forever
Merely a brief parting
All is not well when you are away
I am not well when you are away
Entwined fingers come undone
Legs walk away and it is over
I am left with my tears
And only the hope that I will see you
Soon my love. Soon
